请教HN：你害怕去美国参加科技会议吗？
我不是美国公民，我必须说，即使在今年之前，我就已经开始对前往美国旅行产生了一些疑虑。
我上一次去美国是在2014年，但在过去的十年左右，我觉得那里的暴力事件似乎大幅增加，我对枪支非常恐惧。我住在欧洲，对我而言，大规模枪击事件的风险太高，尤其是考虑到和家人一起旅行。我明白概率，但即使概率超过0%对我来说就是为了访问一个国家而承担的巨大风险。

I am not a U.S. citizen, and I have to say that even before this year, I was beginning to have some second thoughts about traveling to the U.S.<p>I traveled last time to the US in 2014, but in the last 10 years or so, it seems to me that there has been a huge increase in violence, and I have huge fears about guns. I live in Europe and the thought that there are mass shooting is for me too high risk specifically considering traveling with my family. I understand probabilities but still more than 0% is a huge risk just for visiting a country.<p>Now I also read about non-US citizens being detained on the border.<p>I was planing this year to travel to some tech conferences in US but it seems that it is not a good year.<p>PS: Imagine why this is a throwaway account because I read they check the phone, laptops at the boarder. This is 100% more crazy that I am afraid to even speak on the internet about it.<p>Am I paranoid or are there other people in the same situation?
