Is what goes through my head as I look at a picture of a female astronaut.<p>Then it occurs to me that they probably put that person in there for the photo op.<p>Then I hear an accusation in my head that I am stereotyping beautiful women.<p>Let's consider the first thought first.<p>Is the woman just a model? Or a prettier astronaut who displaced a more capable astronaut? Is that displacement only for the picture, or did she displace her professionally?<p>So many possibilities. Likely more than those that occur to me.<p>Now let's consider the second thought second.<p>Is my stereotype that beautiful women are not capable or, that beautiful women displace more capable women, or that capable women are not pretty?<p>So many possibilities.<p>What the fuck is going on.
