Last week I bought my second online business, a Chrome extension called SuperDev Pro. It’s basically a bundle of small tools for developers and designers (CSS inspector, font detection, color picker, etc.).<p>I thought I’d share how the first week went, since I always find these posts useful when others share numbers.<p>7 day stats:
- $4,300 revenue
- 7.68k visitors
- 150+ lifetime licenses sold
- 500 installs
- Domain Rating went up +8 (now 15)
- Hit #1 on Peerlist of the week<p>What I actually did:
- re-designed the website (it was pretty rough before)
- fixed some obvious SEO issues
- posted on Peerlist + Reddit, which gave it a traffic boost<p>Early takeaways:
- small acquisitions can gain traction quickly if distribution is right
- design/SEO tweaks had a bigger effect than I expected
- buying is the easy part, figuring out how to keep it growing is the hard part<p>Curious if anyone else here has bought small software products — what did your first week/month look like?
