I'm running into a frustrating issue where Google Chrome slows down or goes into a loading state while reading big threads on hackernews. (For example this post: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41002195
or this post:https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=45427982
)<p>All I have to do is start clicking the minimize button on threads and my entire PC stops responding.<p>I have a really beefy setup so its most likely not from there<p>Has anyone else run into this?<p>So far been able to replicate on:
- Windows 11, Chrome v140.0.7339.208<p>Also tried incognito mode in Chrome, disabled all extensions.
Interestingly, doesn't happen on macOS.
