卡尔格岛看起来像一个“猴子陷阱”。占领它将是浪费金钱和人力，而且有太多不确定因素。<p>不如摧毁它或使其部分失效，使其变得无用。最糟糕的情况就是将其烧成灰烬。<p>收益：没有部队损失，没有金钱浪费，并且有一个固定的明确时间表，预算成本有限（每六个月在炼油厂上方投放一枚重磅炸弹）。<p>那么，为什么不这样做呢？

Kharg Island looks like a "monkey trap". It would be a waste of money & men to occupy it. Also too many contingencies.<p>Instead destroy it or disable parts of it and render it useless. At worst burn it to the ground.<p>Gains: no troop losses, no waste of money, and a fixed definitive schedule with limited budgetary cost (1 blockbuster atop the refinery every 6 months).<p>So why not do that?
