请问HN：页面内速读工具有用吗？
一位朋友建议我在我的博客文章中嵌入一个 RSVP 阅读器，于是我在页面的角落做了一个浮动按钮。它使用了 Spritz 的启发式方法来确定焦点字母（短单词使用第一个字母，长单词最多使用到第四个字母），同时也会考虑标点符号，时间间隔也不是均匀的。我不想在这篇文章中埋没太多技术细节，所以如果你对其中的任何内容感兴趣，随时问我，我很乐意分享。
不过我其实不太习惯快速阅读，所以不确定这个功能是否真的有用。你觉得怎么样？
关于浏览器扩展呢？当一个扩展理论上可以在任何地方使用时，针对每个网站的阅读器还有意义吗？

A friend suggested I embed an RSVP reader in my blog posts, so I did a floating button in the corner of the page. It uses the Spritz heuristic for the focus letter (letter 1 for short words, up to letter 4 for long ones) but maps back through punctuation, and the timing isn't uniform either. I don't want to bury this post in technical detail, so if you're curious about any of it, just ask and I'm happy to share.<p>But I'm not really used to speed readers, so I don't know if it's actually useful. What do you think?<p>And about browser extensions? does a per-site reader still make sense when an extension works everywhere, in theory?<p>It's on my blog (glitchedcat.com) on any post the lightning bolt button in the corner.
